A Chinese Aphorism

Here's a saying my parents are fond of quoting:

路遥知马力,日久见人心

lu4 yao2 zhi1 ma3 li4
ri4 jiu3 jien3 ren2 xing1

Literal translation:
road long (spatial sense) [to know] horse force
day long (temporal sense) [to meet] person heart

Meaning:
By a long road shall a horse's full strength be known;
By the test of time shall a person's true heart be revealed.

Edit, 21:30 CDT: O tempura! O morays! O trask! :-D
(From w00t_comic)

Grats to most of my friends (but not my students yet) at being done with final exams! Pizza Party (1 of 2) at Bana's smial!

Edit, 22:15 CDT: O... M... G!! LOL!1!!!!!

That is the awesomest thing I have seen in months. Jereeza the red!
You rock so hard it's not even funny.
Thank you!

My fandom's wraith is its Madonna
I was thinking of apologising for the redness; while I was in Zagreb yesterday morning three of my five lightbulbs decided to die, so I had shitty lightning to say the least
But 'twas Nazguly!
Tres bien!

and had to adjust the camera to catch something other than deep darkness; in the end, I liked the 'red light district' effect. *giggle*
LOL! You're just a ldaz of the nught at heart.
Speaking of which, see the icon of Inara the Companion in deire's LJ.
You need a "My fandom's WRAITH is its Madonna" icon. :-P

*SMOOCH!*
Meep! Bax atcha.

You, too, rock, mon. D'you think I'd combine my best Elvis voice with my Britney Spears Look of Innocence for just any bloke?
LOLOL, is that what it was?
You did very well, then!

What got me was...
...the BBC announcer-type intro.

All in all, a beautiful snippet of insanity.

(Errr... You might want to verify your use of transliteration. What you have there seems to be more a literal translation. Transliteration is the stuff that turns the Cyrillic CCCP into the Roman SSSR. Which then gets translated into USSR.)

Are you having some long days on long roads, sweetie?

Take care.

Got it - thanks for the correction; I've edited it.

Are you having some long days on long roads, sweetie?
Take care.

Thou sayest.
(And thou seest.)
