Lake Matheson, the Mirror Lake, Fjordland National Park, Milford, New Zealand
by David Kuei-Yu Hsu, 2004

My dad's little brother, David Hsu, has been doing a lot of travelling. He and his wife took a two-week trip to Aotearoa, the Land of the Long White Cloud (or Shroud as carida_46, who is nearly on her way there, called it) from 03-17 February 2004.

Edit, 16:30 CDT Sun 10 Oct 2004: Here are 32 photographs plus this itinerary:

Blast, now I must watch LotR all the way through again. The tragedy, the tragedy!

NZ has always struck me as a cool place to be, jokes about sheep outnumbering people because polygamy is legal notwithstanding.

LOL, poor you!

I guess Jen's the only other one who's heard that joke...Probably because she's the only other one I've told it to.

Behind every good seppuku...
... there is a little fluffy rabbit.

(That was actually one of the funnier bunny suicides.
Have you seen it?
If not, I'll see if I can scan that one.)

I haven't seen the book, no. Sounds like a great birthday gift, though!

Will be a few days unless my scanner arrives early AND I can scrounge a 6' USB cable, but OK!

Thanks! I'll pass along your compliments to my uncle. Did you have a chance to look at the others yet?

How's your fall break going, BTW?

carida_46 is the closest, I'm afraid, and I don't think she's lived in Christchurch for thirty-forty years. We need to mount a mass invasion once istari_ala gets her degree and sets up Home Base Endor!
