Mine, all mine meme

A meme originated by wiliqueen:

1. Name a CD you own that no-one else on your friends list does:
Rosanne Cash, 10 Song Demo

Second try: Rodney Crowell, Life Is Messy (2000)

2. Name a book you own that no-one else on your friends list does:
Lewis, J. & Loftus, W. (2005). Java Software Solutions: Foundations of Program Design, 4th edition. Boston, MA: Addison-Wesley.

OK, OK, that's cheating - it's barely out yet, and mine's an instructor evaluation copy.

How about A Pliocene Companion by Julian May?

3. Name a movie you own on DVD/VHS/whatever that no-one else on your friends list does:
Hrm, now TV eps would be easy - I still have episodes of Automan and The Misfits of Science on VHS.
I have Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001), but there are probably enough Disney buffs who own one of every feature film.

How about I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998)?
If anyone else will admit to owning that, I'll be impressed.

4. Name a place that you have visited that no-one else on your friends list has:
Hsin Tien (Sindian), Taipei, Taiwan.

Waiting for my cooler-than-cool buddies to clue me in here...

I accept your challenge.
I could do the first couple parts of this meme all day and not break a sweat - cds because I'm just that cool, books because I've been collecting odd volumes for zine-making purposes. As soon as I have a chance to research the actual names of the cds and books, I'll post this in my own journal. K?

Um...I have Automan on a tape somewhere. ;-) Sheesh! Been eons since I watched that. ;-)

Automan
Hey, he was a mobile, sentient hologram over a decade before the Voyager EMH! And think what slick programming it must have taken to emulate a 29th century mobile emitter.

I remember. Scary ain't it! ;-)

Scary is...
... that it's been over twenty years!
There are univesity freshman who weren't born when that show aired!

And yet, I don't feel old. I think the willingness to watch a show where a vehicle can make exact 90-degree turns like a Tron lightcycle (without an inertial damper or even a seat belt, and leave the passenger miraculously alive) keeps one young. :-P

:-P Brat...remember I'm a couple months older than you!

And as to 90 degree turns...physics, we don't need no stinking physics! ;-)

LOL...speaking of about that long ago...do you remember Starman and Manimal?

Yes, ma'am! We respects our elders, ma'am!

Indeed not, or failure of the inertial dampers on the Delta Flyer would mean peanut butter and Paris sandwiches, to say nothing of Voyager proper.

Have you read Endymion, wherein people really do get pasted (literally) on translation to hyperspace, and have to regenerate cf. the wraiths of the Perseus Galaxy? Actually, there is even .

LOL...speaking of about that long ago...do you remember Starman and Manimal?
 Remember them?

There's a reason that particular neon cyan color is my favorite. And people who've been around me for extended periods of time will inevitably see me extract mouse balls, trackballs, large ball bearings, spherical pieces of hematite, etc. - and roll them around.

(OK, look, for all readers gawking at this: I hasten to add two words: Erin Gray. kthxbye!)

I now have the theme songs to Misfits, Automan, and Starman looping in my head. Deeply frightening.

Re: Scary is...
ROTFL!!! I was thinking about Misfits and almost added them into the list!!!!

LOL..we're just a couple of geeks!

Speaking of inertial dampers...did you hear Sheppard's comments about the Jumpers and how good they might be and just what would have happened when they went atmospheric without them and "hey, do you want some of this turkey sandwich?" *eg*

Misfits are in the list... "science is over... class dismissed".

(Again, for the benefit of the gentle readers who do not grok the tronkie goodness: Before she was Monica on Friends, or Alex Keaton's girlfriend Lauren on Family Ties, Courteney Cox was a teenaged TK-head. Additionally, I think many a Sith would like to have gotten his or her hands on Johnny B. Goode.)

Oh, speak for yourself! :-D

Yup! Though it would be more of a red jelly like the body bag contents in Darklight...

It's true!
Now, if only Anders had said that (he didn't, did he?)... I'd make it a startup sound on my notebook.

(Of course, rebooting is also a crutch for the weak, but what are you going to do?)

Hee hee...I made it!
Good work.
