Frelling awesome

If I were a Springer-Verlag Graduate Text in Mathematics, I would be Saunders Mac Lane's Categories for the Working Mathematician.

I provide an array of general ideas useful in a wide variety of fields. Starting from foundations, I illuminate the concepts of category, functor, natural transformation, and duality. I then turn to adjoint functors, which provide a description of universal constructions, an analysis of the representation of functors by sets of morphisms, and a means of manipulating direct and inverse limits.

Which Springer GTM would you be?

I really need to read that, too.

Uhh, what's with that rock?

Edit, 17:20 CDT: Just got back from the eye doctor. He had to dilate my pupils with dropses twice! Everything's a big bright blur.

Apparently I have a benign congenital condition called white without pressure, which makes my retinas look like this. Hmm.

Can't type well now. More later.

Does that mean you're seeing white spots?

No white spots
Nope - that would be, uh, not so benign.
Nice eye icon, BTW.

That meme is such an advertisement.

Can your retinas be repaired?

Gee, ya think?
That meme is such an advertisement.
No kidding!

Can your retinas be repaired?
Eh?
Benign, benign.
Harmless, etc.

Not even headaches?

No headaches
I get headaches at most 3-5 times a year, and that's when I've gone a week with fewer than 30 hours' sleep (usually close to 25) and worked a few 14-hour stretches on something. Severe eye strain is no problem for me, but exposure to various pathogens sometimes is (thanks, students!)

Re: No headaches
Heh heh... You know, you really shouldn't refer to your students as pathogens; they might not appreciate it. ;)

I get headaches when I've been coding for way too long or (like you said) when I've been running on near empty for awhile. I used to get some severe headaches when I was a child (I think they were migraines) where I would have to lie down in a dark room. I remember a few times where I had nosebleeds. I'm glad that I don't get headaches that severely anymore.

ROFL!!!
I meant the ones they give me!
You're gonna make them call the Campus Fourum on me!

:nods:
By "near empty", do you mean without eating?

Good.
