Will do!
I'm planning to learn to use Corel Painter 9 and Adobe Illustrator 10 - any other suggestions?

Re: Wacom tablet
You may want to look into the now-free (formerly Fractal Design) Expression (soul-sucking free registration req'd). It's a great program, capable of producing Painter-like bitmap-looking designs that are actually entirely vectors at heart! It is very Wacom-friendly, even in its UI gadgets. I prefer it to Illustrator, but that's because I'm quirky and Illustrator is not.

Also, you may want to try the free demo of Alias SketchBook Pro. It's a very neat program (I especially like the interface) but perhaps a bit expensive (USD$179) for a doodlepad.

Fantastique! I love both free stuff and soul-sucking.

Hey, good show!
<JOEY>What's not to like? Tablet - good! Raster-like - good! Vector - good!</JOEY>

Say, though, I've often wondered: what's "fractal" about all of that? Procedural textures and other surface detail tools?

It is very Wacom-friendly, even in its UI gadgets. I prefer it to Illustrator, but that's because I'm quirky and Illustrator is not.

Aha. Nice! Thanks for the recommendation.

Will do! Yeah, my doodlepads have tended to run in the $7-9 range for a 100-page 14x17" book (Hunt/Bienfang or Strathmore). :-)

I'll let you know what I get and how it goes!

Thanks again,
Banazir

So lightsabers challenge the Witch-King now?

Anyway.

Old leather belt - $12
New leather belt - $12

Why did you buy/get an old leather belt? Especially with a new one?

Lightsabers don't kill Ringwraiths; Jedi hobbits do!
So lightsabers challenge the Witch-King now?
As we say in TEUNC:
Lightsabers dknot kill Nazgul; Jedi hobbits do!

Anyway.

Old leather belt - $12
New leather belt - $12

Why did you buy/get an old leather belt? Especially with a new one?

I didn't buy it; that's just the original price.
It's a turtle-skin belt, about 25 years old, that my dad gave me. Sounds odd, but if you've ever seen me with my one black/brown reversible belt (and known it was my only one), you know that my wardrobe needs a slight expansion.
