MATLAB (have up to v6.1, now v7): know it.
Maple (have up to v7, now v9.5): knew a little once; learning it.
Mathematica (up to v4.1, now 5.1): seen bits and pieces; want to learn.

Excel: you'd think, wouldn't you?

Thanks to miyeko for finding the solution to my charting problem. I was trying to make the first selected column, the experiment time in half hour increments, the independent (aka Category or X) axis. Turns out there is a Series tab in the second dialogue window of the Chart Wizard in MS Excel 10 and 11 (Office XP and 2003).

there's all sorts of nifty features in excel, but most of them are so hidden you can't find them.

Indeed.

Who's that in the icon?

Re: Lust perfume?
yes. part of the seven deadly sins category (which, in turn, is part of the sin & salvation category) at black phoenix alchemy lab. they've got a ton of great perfumes (and i should know coz i've sampled most of 'em!) and more coming, with names like 'event horizon', 'lorenz attractor', and 'schroedinger's cat' in the science-inspired realm, lots of liteature, mythology, places...

Time and tide teunce for no tronkie
OK, OK... point well taken.

Now, how do I set the time zone properly so that my entries and comments are recorded with the proper time and date?

Re: Time and tide teunce for no tronkie
you have to use the layers to change the date.

Changing entry and comment timezone in LiveJournal
you have to use the layers to change the date.
So I gathered, but could you please elaborate on that?

Thanks,

Re: Changing entry and comment timezone in LiveJournal
s2 engine docs

to change the time of your comments, you have to write new functions for viewing the page, and those functions depend on what layout you're using because it goes from the comment time on the cluster. (eg, function EntryPage::viewcomment(Comment c){}).

to change the time of your entry, just edit your entry?
