Movie Survey

Memetically induced by the eViol mastermind, masteralida:

1) Total number of films I own on DVD/video:

About 100, not including DVDs of TV series, documentaries, etc.

2) The last film I bought:

In order of purchase: The Return of the King, Widescreen Edition
In order of release on DVD:

3) The last film I watched:

At the theatre: The Return of the King, December 2003
At home, on DVD: The Godfather, 03 Mar 2005
At home, on TV: Their Eyes Were Watching God, mid-March
At home, AVI file: The Phantom of the Opera, 25-28 Mar 2005

Honorable mention to Citizen Kane which I fell asleep watching in March, and still haven't finished.

4) Five films that I watch a lot or that mean a lot to me:

I should first mention that I have never seen any film more than 5 times (Star Wars) and have seen maybe a dozen films twice or more.

  • Star Wars (5 viewings: 3 times on cable, once on network television, once as the Special Edition)

  • Dead Poets' Society (three times)

  • The Fellowship of the Ring (1 theatrical and 1 Special Extended Edition viewing)

  • The Red Violin (once by myself, once with my dad and grandmother)

  • The Joy Luck Club (once with my parents)

5) Tag 5 people and have them put this in their journal:

An eViol mastermind? I'm touched!

How was The Joy Luck Club? I've read the book a couple times, but haven't seen the movie.

LOL, but you aaaaare!

I've read the book a couple times, but haven't seen the movie.

I haven't read the book yet, but I suppose it's somewhat like My Big Fat Greek Wedding for Greek-Americans: the kids chortle and go, "Oh, that's so true!!" and the parents roll their eyes and scowl about how exaggerated it all is. ;-)

Tag them all, and the Force shall know its own
D'oh! That'll teach me to tag first and ask questions later.

Nice Serenity pic, BTW!

*chokes and laughs*

Bah, I remember watching that in film class my freshman year. Don't know if it's worth it. Except to be able to say that you saw it whenever you do one of those "classic movie" memes.
