Signed up for Nanowrimo 2005

Whowever invents dragons first wins.
    -taiji_jian

I completed last year's entry with 200 words and 90 minutes to spare out of the requisite 50000 words in one month.
I thought I'd write another 50000 this fall.
Who's with us?

tanelos contains Book 1 of Shadows of the Sorcerers (working title).

A synopsis I wrote last year:
A centuries-long cold war between two superpower nations of the psychically gifted heats up when a tyrannical mage-lord declares war on both sides.

I just read this
and answered your very nice complement.

Good Luck..won't say break a leg..don't think that fits..

I have to say, that all that has happened to me in the last 2 years has broken me considerably, in my mind. I cannot focus, nor read for long, without my mind wandering..and as you know, we both share a love for science fiction and fantasy, and you are an excellent author. So, if you are not planning to publish, i would like to know if i may TRY to read your entry, and where i might find it. thank you. i am very lucky to have you for a friend. perhaps, sometime in the not too distant future, if the fates allow it, you might come to visit when i am settled in the nursing home. i would like that very much. my mind is going..and i think, if there is a hell, that is what hell is. thank you william, for being my friend.

Dknot envy! Do!
You don't have to write 50000 words in a month once a year! 5000 a month will give you 60000 a year!

I've been a-peckin' at keyboards and a-postin' chapters in my lj for a little while now. I don't think I'll "officially" participate, but I'm definitely getting into the spirit of the thing.

Nano! The thing that I did even worse on than you last year, with a grand total of 0 words. I hope to actually do it this year, though.

I'm planning to let my imagination (and whims) take me where I feel like my story ought to go. Do you have an actual plan for the storyline of yours yet, or is it, like mine, still some grand enigma?

Ahh. That would be my brain running in low-sleep mode and scanning. I read it as being only 200 words in.

Either way, I certainly did worse than he did, non?

Sorry for my incomprehension. LJ + lack of sleep != good reading skills.

Re: Yay awe!
To my eyes, 'teuncy' is close enough to 'touchy' for it to be registered under that alternate definition until a more accurate one is revealed.

I just admire the insane sort of stick-to-it-ive-ness that's required to finish NaNoWriMo. Especially what with me being a short attention spanned fellow/procrastinator, y'know.

*waves* I'm doing it this year.

I hope it turns out better than last year, when I wrote *maybe* 500 words before giving up.

Would you care to share what your theme, topic, or genre was last year?

Re: Best of luck!
Last year's was supposed to be military-sf-meets-zombies story.

It didn't fail because of the concept (which would have been kinda neat), but because I got a job the first of November, which ate up all my time, and because the story really wasn't that plotted out. I find it much easier to write when I know how it's going to end XD

Inability to keep comments short
LOL, I think we both suffer from that syndrome.

I don't wish to spoil your own mental conception of "cleaners", but are you familiar with Marius and Armand from Rice's Vampire Chronicles? Particularly as depicted in The Vampire Lestat, The Vampire Armand, and Blood and Gold (which I haven't read yet)?

Oh, insanity
Well, there are many species of insanity. On one end of the spectrum is wholesome teunciness. I, for example, am all that is hyper and happy (when I'm not being trasked by a seriously overloaded work schedule).

On the other is fan-attacking traskiness. 'tis just not necessary. I've steered clear of Rice since the infamous indcident, though I may pick up her earlier work again just to finish the VC.
