If I have to look at one more royal family tree, the next disaster to strike tanelos is going to be the Constitutional Democracy bird flu. ;-)

This is as good a time as any for me to ask: is anyone using visual aids in Nanowrimo such as The Sims/SimCity/SimEarth, MMORPGs (such as World of Warcraft), or even something more mundane but thought-provoking such as Risk or NationStates?

Speaking of visual aids, I didn't remember Narnia having that many special effects-worthy scenes. I guess the magic is visualized by dint of Kids Today, with Their Hair and Their Clothes. :-D
(I know, carida_46 and mom_counsel - I don't really get to say that yet!)

Interesting!
"Little Tronkies", as you can see from my left-hand links bar in Opal, stands for "IT People", while those in "CS People" ("Big Tronkies") are expected to generate a reasonable, commensurate amount of tronkieness.

Around three weeks ago I became frustrated with two protagonists and one antagonist in my NaNo book, so I made sims in the original game and stuck them in a house to play deathmatch. Insults, slaps, nagging, and finally death by pool took up a good three hours of my time.

But other than that, I haven't done anything as far as visual aids goes. I could probably use Neverwinter Nights if I had the time to reinstall it, but it's too much of a hassle @_@

If I'm writing fiction that is longer than, say, five A4 pages, I draw my characters several times and refer to these sketches in order to spot inconsistencies in my writing. I also draw costume/object/etc. sketches for the same reason (and because I really like to draw!).

If I need maps, I also draw them by hand (in Photoshop/Painter using a tablet); that way I can get everything look like I want it to. If I can't get it right, this way I can only blame myself, not the software :P

Now you know why I have never finished a novel... it's because I'm spending my time drawing military insignia and fussing over verb forms (conlanging is EVIL) instead of actually writing the darn thing ;]
