My favorite actual hymn

Second Day of Christmas, following my personal LJ tradition (started in 2003):
"What A Friend We Have in Jesus"
Words: Joseph M. Scriven (1855)
Music: "Erie", Charles C. Converse (1968)

For those who came in late: every year, during the twelve traditional feast days of Christmas (25 December - 05 January), I post one hymn or Christmas carol per day. In 2004, I was all over the place and even had the theme from The Last Unicorn in there because I thought it would make a nice hymn.

I kept searching for "I Have Found A Friend in Jesus" and coming up with "The Lily of the Valley". I was about to ask our resident hymn expert, scionofgrace, for help when suddenly I remembered. He makes the blind to see, the lame to walk, and the fishies to remember. :-D

This is my favorite actual hymn that is not a Christmas carol ("It Came Upon A Midnight Clear" and "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" are my other favorites).

In other news: Here's a Superman panel that had me laughing for almost an hour. I cross-posted this to teunc:

From The Colors Out of Space

He actually has a drawer of red Kryptonite with the labeled function: turns user into baby. LOL!

Pages 3, 5, and 10 are classic.
