My favorite Banacousine photo

My cousin Flora Peng (Peng Buo) in Champaign, IL, on 22 Aug 1993, age 3
(Click for full-size photo.)

Flora in Taipei, 23 Jan 2005, age 15
(Click for full-size photo.)

They grow up so quickly!
I was 19 in the raft photo above.
Wow.

In other news: My hp psc 1350 All-in-One works now. And it only took 6 years for me to get a stable, fast scanner!

Hehe, yup. Thanks for the compliment - Flora was rather sedate as a young teen, but I think she's coming out of her shy phase now.

Look for more Banafamily pics coming soon!

I love seeing pictures of your family. They always make me smile.

That's why, when the ark-ships are built, we must pool our resources and get in early, while all the choice terraform worlds are available.

Re: Ark-ships?
Cool! When will they be ready?
And will time travel be required to get therethen?

Re: Ark-ships?
I'm not sure on the timeline anymore - I still haven't received the jetpack everyone was promised six years ago. They were supposed to start screening candidates last Tuesday, but you know how that goes. And anyway, if time travel is required, it doesn't matter quite so much when the ships will be ready for boaarding, so long as geriatric technology allows us to be alive and functioning when it happens.

Candidate screenings last Tuesday...
... could still happen, you know.

Geriatric technology - you mean like regen tanks? I ain't wearing no cruciform.

No, but there ARE rejuv clinics...
Though one wonders how long one will stand to suffer the seemingly endless supply of animatronic William Shatners they pass for cruise directors around here.

They will take you by the hand and show you wonders, but at what price?

Isn't she?
I love that there are two adult men sitting on the raft that she's inflating... hence the expression! :-D

Ahhh.... lovely photos.
And yes, I was right... When she's smiling, she and Melody do resemble each other pretty strongly.

Dude. Your aunt. She's scary. As in, check-her-attic-for-covered-up-portraits scary.

I mean, really. It's thirty years later than this. She's allowed to look older. She ought to look older.

Why doesn't she look older?

Re: Ahhh.... lovely photos.
Thanks! Yes, Flora looks much more like her jie jie these days.

LOL, my aunt's from the elvish side of the fami-lee. And haven't you read Oscar Wilde's less-known The Picture of Kai-Ching Lee? ;-)

Re: Ahhh.... lovely photos.
Afraid I must have missed that tale.

Does it explain the Scary Shopper Aunty thing too? Or is that in the lesser known tale of EAP - The Tell-Tale Shopping Cart?

Dissemble nazmore!
"It is the filling of her gigantic cart!"

Let's just say that if retail therapy keeps one young, then my aunt's agelessness is explained. ^_^

Except for those of you who look 16.

I was thinking of regressing from the 2004 one that is currently there to this one from January, 2000 (when I was 26):

I dknot think I loonk much different from this; besides, it's more true-to-life, acos I dknot normally wear T-shirts on campus.

Re: Ahhh.... lovely photos.
Y'know... I was toying with the idea of using that phrase, but I couldn't figure out the best way. And I couldn't remember what it was advertising. Calgon laundry detergent, I think.

So I'm happy you mentioned it.

(Errr... You're in LJ-TEUNC. How are you with e-mail and mailing lists? Ever think about joining the TEUNC yahoogroup? Not trying to recruit you, of course. If you participate more (or enjoy more) in the LJ setting, that's fine. But just in case you hadn't thought about it... think about it, okay?)
