Which of these books are on YOUR "to read soon" list?

Guanxi (The Art of Relationships): Microsoft, China, and Bill Gates's Plan to Win the Road Ahead by Robert Buderi and Gregory T. Huang (2006)
1(7.1%)
The World Is Flat, by Thomas Friedman (2005)
4(28.6%)
The DaVinci Code, by Dan Brown (2003) *
3(21.4%)
Consilience, by Edward O. Wilson (1998)
2(14.3%)
The Fifth Discipline, by Peter Senge (1994)
1(7.1%)

In other news: Apropos of guanxi, who else but gondhir could I rely on as a purveyor of all that is cool, and weird, and cool and weird?

* That's right, I was checking to see if you were paying attention. In this case, it's not so much "book to read and absorb" as "book that must be read before mocking incessantly".

Consilience is eight years old now? Wow, it doesn't seem it. I've been meaning to read that book for a long time now.

I hate admitting to having read The DaVinci Code. It was *such* a suck-bomb!

I wouldn't waste your time of DVC. The title of many of the reviews of the DVC is some variation of "worse than the book. T'ain't promising.

Read the da vinci code. Had to, really. It was reaching the point of critical mass where not being able to demonstrate a view was becoming an indefensible position.

Would read the world is flat, largely as I'm aware of the basic direction of its content, unlike the others. I'm not terribly able to afford books at this point, and I don't have a broad knowledge of which books are out there. If I know what a book is, y'know, it really ups the chances of my being interested in reading it. Looking at the results, both my posts seem in line with the trend.
