Potion of Trask

"You are the last person who needs to be drinking one of those." -masteralida

taiji_jian has dubbed my concoction, consisting of Diet Mountain Dew mixed with Mountain Dew AMP or Sobe No Fear (aka Adrenaline Rush, either Gold or Red), a "potion of trask".

It's a fair characterization, I think.

It is by Caffeine alone I set my mind in motion
It is by Caffeine alone I set my mind in motion,
It is by the beans of java that thoughts acquire speed,
The hands acquire shaking, the shaking becomes a warning,
It is by Caffeine alone I set my mind in motion.

Yay!
It's not mine, mind you; it's nearly as old as the Lynch film itself, if not the book. (I forget whether it's a Lynch-ism or original Herbert.)

If your goal is to short-circuit your cerebrum and send your brain splashing down into your innards, then yes, it works very well. I've lost my friend, and must content myself in conversing with an incoherent mound of organic mush.

Good bye Bana. [sniff] You will be missed.

It does depend
Well, as taiji_jian says, it depends on what you are trying to do. If you're trying to stay awake, it works moderately well. If you're trying to fill your stomach with swill that won't give you bleeding ulcers or heartburn the way cola will, it works very well. If you like citrus-flavored drinks, MDX or AMP with Diet Dew both taste much better than MDX or AMP with Sobe. If you're trying to kill brain cells or drink yourself into an early grave, then despite taiji_jian intimations to the contrary, it fails utterly (not that I am trying).
