Computer Graphics and Web Design Books

Today, I unexpectedly received two books:

Hearn, D. & Baker, M. P. (2003). Computer Graphics, Third Edition. Englewood Cliffs, NJ: Prentice Hall.

I had not even known that Don and Polly were working on a third edition, much less ordered an evaluation copy! Well, this was a pleasant surprise - one of two, as it turned out. I will write a full review later, but suffice it to say that the 3rd edition is considerably better than the various versions of the first and second, on par with the third edition of Angel's book, and as good as a general survey as Foley, van Dam, Feiner, and Hughes. I gave it 4 of 5 stars on a thorough skimming.

McCracken, D. D., Wolfe, R. J., & Spool, J. M. (2003). User-Centered Website Development: A Human-Computer Interaction Approach. Englewood Cliffs, NJ: Prentice Hall.

This was a decent book, though I had my doubts.
I let istari_ala have a leaf through it during the KDD research and development meeting after the CIS 798 seminar. I'll let her write her review for herself, but she did say it was a pretty good book.

I'm curious to hear your recommendations, if you have any interest in web design or computer-generated images and animation (CGI/CGA). If you've read the McCracken et al. or any version of Hearn and Baker, Angel, or Foley-van Dam (which I like to call one of the "Time-Life Series", if you have seen the book without its dust jacket), I'd also like your review.

P.S.: The song is by deire's referral.
