Off to the UK, see you all in two weeks!

Computer problem report to appear here, in an edit. ;-)

Edit, 17 Aug 2005: I decided to just resume posting my questions with my 13 Aug 2005 entry.

I visited with gondhir and istari_ala today, for about half and hour. 'twas fun, but all too short. The tall dwarf hacked at me for a while, apparently because I've dishonored the bones of his compatriots by not interring the dead dwarves in my lab. I don't see anybody complaining about poor frodo, samwise, merry, and pippin!

I'm off to UAI-2005 and IJCAI-2005.

IJCAI-2005
Aw. Wish you could join us! This will be interesting (it always is), and (I hope) fun.
Do you think you'll be able to make it to IJCAI-2007 in India?
How about 2009? (I don't know that they've announced the venue yet. It's probably going to be decided at a meeting of the organizing committee, or the conference steering commitee, as IJCAI's organizational structure is more like the International Olympic Commitees than anything else. It's not affiliated with a national AI society like the United States' NCAI, usually called "AAAI", and AAAI.)

"Do you think you'll be able to make it to IJCAI-2007 in India?"

Don't think so... for now I can only afford it in Europe :-/
Besides, by then I'll try and go to Robocup, rescue simulation, and my University would never support both registration fees...
Please let me know all about it when you return :) and enjoy your trip

IJCAI-2007 and RoboCup
Will do! And please keep me posted on your RoboCup progress!
What specific research are you working on, if any?

Re: IJCAI-2007 and RoboCup
right now I have lots of things to focus my attention :)

a) team formation
b) leadership
c) emotions and power

Right now I'm taking a break in order to clear my ideas and set my mind in motion :) on one single thing. I'd love to work on all of them, but since I'm only able to live 24h/day (trying to pass the barrier though) I really need to pick some thing out of my work that started an year and a half ago.

I'm also trying to change day-job (yes, my research is all pro bono, as the Univ won't pay jack for research...) probably free lance o nsecurity or just plain IT-jack-of-all-trades :-/

I'll update on this as soon as I've got something worth showing ;)

Sure have, sure will
I'm having a grand time, thanks.

Day four (the last) of UAI-2005, and IJCAI-2005 starts tomorrow (the conference proper starts Monday, but there are two days of workshops and tutorials on Sat 30 Jul 2005 and Sun 31 Jul 2005).

On Monday (01 Aug 2005), I'm going to take a day trip to Inverness.
