Day 8: A Day in the Highlands

UK Trip 2005: A Tronkie Travellogue
Day 8: Edinburgh, Scotland to Inverness, Scotland, return (Bus Tour of the Scottish Highlands)

(Click each photo for the full-size version)

08:20 - 20:20: We took a day tour on the Timberbush line to Stirling, Falkirk, Bannockburn, the Highlands, Loch Ness, Inverness and Northeast Scotland.
Passing through the ancient homelands of Rob Roy MacGregor (most famously depicted and romanticized in Rob Roy), William Wallace (whose story is mingled with many Hollywood embellishments in Braveheart), and the wholly fictional characters Connor and Duncan MacLeod (of the film and TV series Highlander) and Dorothea MacDonald (Diamond Mask) was quite an experience. Sancta Illusio, ora pro nobis.
