To wit: I finally finished the application form (using Microsoft Word, hurgh) for our NSF-sponsored research experience for undergraduates (REU) summer program on computational genomics. So, the program and its web page (an MX production) are finally ready to be announced! We'll collect applications through 04 Apr 2003, review them for a week to 10 days, and hold the REU for 12 weeks: from mid-May through the end of July.
In a similar vein, I've had three bluescreens today, all PenguiNet-related. I really do recommend PenguiNet despite a couple of quirky SCP memory leaks and such - it's a GREAT graphical SSH/SCP client - but trask WinXP and the horse it rode in on! (Wlokay, the horse is pretty much trasked raleady.)
Peace-related tidbits (warning: a tad depressing if you are against a U.S. war against Iraq): today's K-State Collegian front page pic; article on a recent demonstration. Last Friday's headline: "Bush to protect U.S.". Tired. (Nice to see that Dr. Lyman Baker, whom I mentioned the other day, is a member of the local Alliance for Peace and Justice. Serendipity - nesupasu, Elly?)
