Genetically-Modified Organisms and Agrojournalism

Any agrojournalists out there? Journalists in general who cover agricultural news? Agronomists, horticulturalists, plant pathologists, veterinarians and veterinary medical scientists, meat scientists, or other plant and animal scientists who have been interviewed by them before?

How about just people who are interested in genetically-modified food organisms?

I ask because I'm interested in writing an editorial or public information piece on GMOs (the pros and cons, what issues there are, what public fears are prominent and which are valid IMO), but I'm not sure how to do about doing so. I've done some background research both as part of my work in bioinformatics and just out of a general desire to learn about GMOs, but I don't belong to any of the above categories.
