He had attended my presentation this spring at the KSU Cultural Studies Symposium on Science Fiction and the Brain. It seems that he later heard from one of my colleagues that I had written about meeting Nancy Kress. Well, as it turns out, he was writing a 700-word synopsis of the keynote addresses and wanted my recollection of the title of her short story ("Our Mother, Dancing" IIRC).
Then he remarked, "Well, I don't know if you'll be interested in next spring's Symposium... it's on Sex (and the Body Politic)... but anyway, the year after that..."
Wot?! We're computer scientists, traskit! We have a reputation to uphold! :-) :-D
