Congratulations to PJ, now let it snow

wee_tolkien, figgylicious, and scionofgrace report that The Return of The King won four Golden Globes, including Best Picture.
Excellent (well, unless you are Louis Epstein). Oscars next, precious?

I would have guessed the BP, but tonight I was working most of the evening and taped the awards ceremony.
(How's that for spoiler tolerance, jereeza? ;-))

Close, dammit!

I mean, look at that freaking WeatherPixie!

Just remember you asked for it.

You hear that masteralida, he asked for it.

Some how every time I think of the idea of nerd riots, it makes me chuckle.

Hopes for Sean Astin's Academy Award nomination for ROTK
Tomorrow, Sean hopefully gets his nomination!!!!!!
I hope so.

Serkis is likely to get the nod as well. His perfomance was excellent, as prolog notes below.

It'll be interesting to see how they deal with Andy Serkis. Personally, I thought he played Gollum far better than Astin did Sam, but that's just my opinion.

Good question.

Hehe... shmeepster is likely to trask you. :-)
IMHO, they were both good enough to be nominated for BSA Oscars, but AFAIK only one actor per category per film is eligible, right?
In any case, BSA is very competitive, so it's anyone's game. I hope Sean Astin gets it, but I am not betting on it.

(In the past I had a 70-75% prediction rate on Oscars. As I have had less and less time to catch new releases in the theatre or read the reviews and awards buzz, this has deteriorated to about 40%.)

LET IT SNOW???
Let it snow here! In Nor'east Kansas!
Where there be barely 1" on the ground.

Wlokay. My dad and I didn't even have to shovel, yet he is already into his trademark rant about abandoning the Northern WastesTM for the idyllic South (he went to grad school in Louisville, KY, Hattiesburg, MI, somewhere in AL I can't rememember ATM, and Atlanta, GA).

How can such light looking, pretty stuff be so heavy?!?
Someone's been seeding rainclouds with uranium. Shhh.

Many suns and moons ago two movies were up against each other for Best Picture Oscar. Those two movies were Star Wars: A New Hope and Annie Hall.

The better film won.
